Mainström - Zweistimmiger Frauengesang im musikalischen Stil à la Pulley oder Lagwagon mit schnellen Punkrockbeats, aber auch mit Indie-, Hardcore-, Garagerock-Elementen, angereichert durch die unverkennbare Mainström-Note! Angie (voc/guitar) und Jenny (bass/voc) - schon gemeinsam banderprobt unter anderem aus Zeiten von „You girls agreed“ - legten die Grundsteine für dieses Projekt. Drummer Heiko komplettierte das Trio, und so folgte die offzielle Gründung von Mainström im Sommer 2010. Seitdem begeistert die Band ihr Publikum durch ein abwechslungsreiches Set mit vor allem pogofähigen Songs. Im Oktober 2011 veröffentlichte Mainström die erste EP „No good reason“. Die englischsprachigen Songs setzen sich unter anderem mit zwischenmenschlichen Problemen, dem Sinn des Lebens, Kritik an der Gesellschaft und dem Rollenverständnis auseinander, wobei Mainström die Themen gerne auf ironische, belustigende und vor allem rockende Weise zum Ausdruck bringt.
Calamity Jane - is an alternative rock band from Germany. 3 rock’n’roll girls and a powerful drummer play adrenaline-loaded songs with head-banging potential. Their music is characterized by catchy riffs and solos created by Nadja, played on Kyra’s solid bass-line and perfectly completed by Dirk’s drums. On top of that, comes Oana’s strong and unique voice which is accompanied by the backing vocals of Nadja and Kyra.
Calamity Jane is also sending through their lyrics a powerful critical social message inspired mainly by everyday experiences of the band.
When on the stage, the 3 girls with their drummer are literally on fire, offering an explosive show. This makes Calamity Jane a live band which no one wants to miss.
Nadja and Kyra have met in 2005 and started making music together. Later Dirk and Oana joined the band which was baptized after the well-known western heroin. The girls from Calamity Jane want to succeed in the rock music business, in which the women are still eclipsed by men, similarly as their American heroin succeeded during the western times in the gunslingers’world.
Since 2009 the bands played many live shows on local festivals and pubs. Their EP, “Burn the City”, was released in February 2011 and contains 5 tracks. In the moment the band plans new recordings and a professional video.
